Leave chain adjustment to the store.
Adjusting the chain on the old Ninja 400/650 is a bit of a hassle since the rear axle nut is held in place by a split pin. I personally don't do any work on the suspension or brakes myself, so I leave that to the store.
I was really hoping to go to Kawasaki Plaza Tokyo to get some maintenance done and test ride the z900 if I could, but unfortunately they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. But unfortunately, they are closed on Monday and Tuesday, and there is a typhoon coming this week, so if I don't get the chain adjusted today, I may not be able to go touring this weekend.
So I called Mizonokuchi 2Rinkan and made a reservation for pit work at 6:30pm.
I left home at 18:00, smoked one IQOS at the site, and then went to the registration desk. As expected, it was a weekday and the pit was empty.
I was thinking of going out for a quick bite to eat after dropping off my bike, but there are no good restaurants within walking distance of Mizonokuchi 2Rinkan, and even though it's evening, it's still really hot... So I took a walk around the air-conditioned restaurant.
K1200R while waiting
First, I went upstairs to look at helmets, and then I looked at the used car inventory of SOX, which is also located on the second floor....
Oh, this is......
This is a BMW K1200R that I was interested in when I was googling for a used car that could be a candidate for a new car. This is the first time I've taken a closer look at the actual bike.
More.Previously rented S1000RI had imagined a sto-fy style body, similar to the one in the "Mere Old Man", but it was more massive than I expected.
By the way, the price was like this.
That's a price I can afford for more cars... Just as I was thinking that, my cell phone rang to inform me that the work was finished.
Disappear
Tensioning and cleaning completed. The chain, which had been neglected for a while, is now clean and the tension is good.
As usual, I checked the tire pressure and headed home.
The noise from the chain was completely eliminated. The engine sound was pleasant to listen to, and the discomfort I had felt when accelerating and decelerating disappeared.
The other day I commented that the freshly replaced Motul 7100 was "a cut above the 300V", but it seems that my impression was only negatively affected by the stretched chain. The day ended with a pleasant bike ride home.
It looks like there will be a typhoon coming this week, but it looks like there won't be much worry about rain this weekend. I want to go touring this weekend... I want to go.
