Going to change the chain and oil.
Sunny weather is forecast for this weekend. The weather is expected to be fine this weekend, and there are reports that the autumn leaves will be in full bloom here and there, so I'd like to go out for a day of touring. I'd like to go out for a day of touring, and I'd like to replace the chain, which has been making a strange noise for over 21,500km...
So I made a reservation for a pit stop at Rough and Road Kawasaki, which is only 10 minutes away from my house by bike. I went there after finishing my work.
The place was empty, probably because it had rained a little bit just before. Not many customers. I arrived about 10 minutes earlier than my appointment time, so I was looking around the chain store when a staff member asked me, "Are you here for a work appointment? A staff member asked me, "Do you have an appointment?
So which one is the best chain?
"Which chain do you want?" He asked me, but since I've only done preliminary research on D.I.D products, I can only judge RK and EK products by their appearance and price... He gave me a little explanation, but in the end, I chose the best one from D.I.D.
The chain is 40% off until the end of the week, so it's cheaper than buying a standard grade chain (VX2) at 2Rinkan. By the way, the Ninja 650 has 114 links, so I bought a 120 link and cut 6 links off.
On Amazon, you can buy pre-cut ones by selecting the number of links, but the price is a bit higher than the Rough and Loaded price.
Rough & Road pit work is very good.
After selecting the chain and telling him the brand of oil to be sold by weight (Motul 300V), he took the bike to the pit.
The pit space here is open to anyone who wants work done, so you can talk to the staff working there and ask questions. In the past, at places like Kawasaki Plaza, 2Rinkan, and NAPS, the pit space was off-limits, and depending on the store, you couldn't see what was going on, so this was really nice.
While we're on the subject.Fall in JuneThe bolt was bent in theI couldn't take it off by myself (due to the extreme heat).I asked the slider cone, "If this is easy to remove, I'd like to ask you to remove it..." I asked, and it was quite easy to remove.
When they removed the bolt, they fixed the bend in the bolt (they thought they could use it again after fixing the bend), so it looks pretty straight, but in reality, it was much more bent. Actually, this bolt. I tried to ask a store in Tokyo to remove this bolt before, but they just looked at it and said "Oh, we can't do that" without touching it or checking with the pit staff. That's how he refused.
After removing the slider cone, we started the replacement work.
Chain replacement while draining the oil. This time I chose a gold chain. The initial grease makes it look white, but the real thing is a bit more gold... Well, I tend to skip cleaning, so I have a feeling I'll end up turning it black in no time...
And then, the filter was replaced....
First, I filled the Ninja 650 with 1.8 liters of oil, which is the recommended amount for a filter change, but that would only get the oil to the bottom of the gauge.
When I was thinking that I would like to add a little more oil, the staff member who finished the final check of the chain looked at the gauge and added a good amount of oil. So, I finished the whole process.
By the way, one of the staff members worked on my car, but when the work was finished, he took turns with another staff member to double-check the work. Even at that stage, he did a little work from the perspective of the other staff member, such as tightening the shift pedal because it was a little loose....
Even though it is the closest to my house, I often stopped by other stores because it is not on my usual route, but I think I will leave the pit work to Rough and Road from now on.
And the weighed oil and chain were far cheaper than other stores. Oh, by the way.Previous tire changeI also did a lot of research, and found that this was by far the cheapest place for relatively new products.....
Impre... I'm not sure what to say.
I was very satisfied with the pit work. We spent most of the time in the pit talking with the staff while they worked on the car, but halfway through, I started to feel dull... I felt like it was hard to stand up. Even during the day, I felt like I had a cold. In the end, I sat on a bench in the pit to watch the work.
After the replacement was completed, I went back to my house from the store, but I didn't feel right... So I went into my room and fell down on my bed and couldn't move. From the phone in my right hand, I sent a message to my workmate, "I can't make it later today..." Then I slept for 10 hours until the next day (the morning of the 19th)....
I'm feeling revived, but I wonder if I'll be able to ride this weekend....
