Spent New Year's Eve with my cat... Hi, sleepyhead.
On New Year's Eve, we went to my ex-family's apartment (I'm paying the mortgage) to eat motsu-nabe and play with the cat. My third son seemed to be feeling a little better after the medicine he was given at the hospital, so I was planning to go to bed early and go on my annual sunrise touring trip, but...
My eldest son is holding my knees and right hand, and I can't move to the futon for any length of time... I went to bed three hours later than planned. I set my alarm for 3 a.m., but there was no way I could wake up... I woke up just before sunrise.
Well, there was a lot of cloud cover, so we couldn't see the first sunrise even in the Izu area, so that's good. Anyway, I got ready for the day in a relaxed manner so as not to wake up my ex-family... Here we go.
Anyway, we went to Izu.
In addition to the electric heating of the top, bottom, and gloves, we also turned on the grip heaters to keep us warm. We drove from Yokoyoko through Seisho. After passing through Atami, we were in Higashi-Izu in no time.
I came out with no plan, so I started thinking about lunch... Last year, I had a bowl of rice topped with sea bream in Shimoda... The same thing is not a good idea. But it's New Year's Day. There are only a few restaurants that are open on New Year's Day. I called the venison steak restaurant I was interested in, and the owner answered, but they said they would be open from the 2nd. Whenever I see a restaurant that looks like it might be open for dinner, I stop and scout it out....
It's not easy to find a good-looking restaurant. Today's lodging is scheduled for Lake Hamanako, so I went out to Nishi-Izu to try to close the distance while it was still bright, and took my usual course and usual rest & shooting points.
After passing Dogashima, we had a meal....
I checked the time of the ferry from Doi to Shimizu Port... The next ferry leaves at 3:00 p.m., so we have some time to kill. The next flight was at 3:00 p.m., so we had some time to kill.
Fuji on the way to the Doi area.
Cherry blossom viewing from New Year's Day, just like last year
So I went to Manpukuji Temple in Doi, the same place as last year.
It's only the first day of the year, but a few of the very early blooming Doi cherry trees are already in full bloom.
Perhaps by the end of this month, we will be able to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom.
It's almost the same behavior as last year.
Just like last year, we took the ferry.
The 650cc displacement is a good value for money.
Like last year, I was the only one on the bike. I was able to time it well, so I parked my bike, bought a ticket, went to the restroom, smoked my IQOS, and went to ..... at about the same time.
The ferry arrived. It was quite a sight to see it turn around in the harbor and dock from the stern.
Once a lot of cars and people have been ejected from the ship, the bikes will be the first to board... Oh, and we'll be the last to disembark.
The boat ride took about 50 minutes. Fuji from the window of the boat, but I took a nap on the seat in the boat. We arrived at Shimizu Port in no time.
We went to the same inn as last year.
Since I had no plan and no choice but to make a reservation at the last minute, I went to a business hotel in a remote area near Lake Hamana, the same as last year. I went westward on the Route 1 bypass, where the western sun was as harsh as it was last year.
The sun was going down and it was getting darker and darker. The wind was strong, as it was last year... I wonder if it's like this all year round around here.
We arrived at the hotel easily. I checked on my phone, but there were no open restaurants in the area, so I ate at a convenience store....
I brought a copy of "Kaiji - Underground Chinchirorin - Pachinko Numahen" from the large collection of manga books in the lobby, took a bath, and finished the first day with a lot of manga!...
