When I rented a car for a short trip at the end of last year, it was equipped with this.
The rear view mirror is not a mirror surface, but an LCD that reflects the camera image. There are few blind spots and the image is clear and very easy to see. Moreover, when you put the car in reverse, the display changes to show the image of the camera....
It looks very futuristic. Recently, it has become legal to use cameras on the side mirrors, so I guess cars will continue to go cyber like this.
So I thought that a smart helmet might be more convenient than I thought.
Smart helmets are coming, yeah! YEAH! Yah!
SHOEI has also announced a helmet with a head-up display, so I'm sure it will be commercially available within a few years....
NS West has developed a smart helmet for motorcycles [IT-HL (tentative name)] jointly with SHOEI, the world's No.1 seller of premium helmets, with a view to introducing it to mass production in the near future→ "[Smart Helmet for Motorcycles] NS West and SHOEI Jointly Development!" https://t.co/pu8rlEd45h @from three people

I like the fact that I can get rearward vision without looking back, which is the blind spot of mirrors. I'm using SHOEI Z-7 now, and although the aerodynamics from the front is great, when I try to turn my head to check left, right and rear, my head is taken away by the driving wind.
By the way, I have a total of three smart speakers at home: two Amazon Echoes and a Google Home mini. I already have voice control for music, checking the time and weather, remote control of home appliances, and sending small SMS.
I'm poisoned to the point where I can't help but ask Alexa for the time when I'm walking outside, so it's not hard to see that Alexa is on there.
However, I wonder how safe this is as a helmet. Even though it has a carbon fiber cap, it weighs about the same as the Z-7, and I'm not sure if it's safe to have all those gadgets on board. So, I won't buy this one and will wait and see.
Playing with photos to quell bike cravings
So these days, when I ride my bike, it's only to and from my ex-family's house where my third son (a cat) is sick.
I haven't been able to ride much other than back and forth between the Daisan Keihin and the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway. Touring is a bit out of the question for this three-day weekend as well. So I've been playing with the photos of past motorcycles in my phone to sublimate my desire for motorcycles.
First, I'm going to change the main visual of this site....
I've been ruminating on the rental bikes I've ridden in the past.....
I've been playing around with the pictures I took of my Ninja 650 while touring....
Oh, I want to ride a bike! (I've been riding for a while.)
