This is my third season using electric heating wear.
Impulse purchase in the winter of 2015.This is exactly what I did.Once you raise your standard of living, you can't lower it.Representative of the product.
I've written about it many times on this blog."It's not cold."and"warm"is a different level of comfort.I'm sure you'll understand.
This is the reason why I can go touring every year at the end of the year and the beginning of the year, and even in the coldest months of January and February (I have to choose between the Izu Peninsula and the Boso Peninsula...) This is the reason why I can go touring without any hesitation.
Even at 0 degrees Celsius, I don't feel cold at all... Or rather, warm... Hot place too
After all, with everything turned on, including the grip heater, my body doesn't feel cold at all even when the temperature is 0℃... In fact, it was almost as warm as being in a kotatsu. When I was riding, the temperature gauge on the shoulder of the road showed below freezing, and I often realized for the first time, "Oh, it's that cold now...". I often realize for the first time.
There have been a few times when I've slipped into a parking lot of a roadside station or convenience store on my motorcycle and overheard a passerby say, "Wow, that looks cold..." "No, I'm probably a hundred times more comfortable than you think..." I would say in my mind.
Set the temperature on your back, where you don't get direct airflow from the car."middle"It's a little hot in some cases, even if you're wearing a If you're not careful, you'll be sweating a little.
When I was in my twenties, with a high basal metabolic rate and the ability to maintain body temperature, I was able to ride my bike in light clothing even in the middle of winter, but now that I'm an old man in both name and reality, if it weren't for this, I probably would have put my bike into hibernation during the winter... What a surprise!
The problem is the price.
The bottleneck, however, is the price. I'm using a jacket + pants + gloves right now, but if you buy the latest model on Amazon, the price is like this...
Jacket(28,980)+Pants(21,619)+Gloves(29,960)=80,559yen
(As of January 8, 2019)
Well, it's certainly a bit of an expensive item... Personally, I'm convinced that "if you wear it and go out 80 times, that's 1,000 yen per trip..." I'm satisfied with that.
When I bought it in 2015, Heatech was the only company that had an electric heating system that could be used properly, so I bought this one, but nowadays, Comine and RS Taichi have released similar products. However, the RS TAICHI e-Heat, which doesn't have heating for the neck and sleeves, is not a good choice for me. The heating of the neck and sleeves, which are exposed through the cowl, is very important.
On the other hand, the Comine product is a latecomer and has the same heat generation area as the Heatech, and it can be used directly with the battery, so it is probably as easy to use as the Heatech. And yet, the price is like this.
Jacket(18,806)+Pants(16,130)+Gloves(14,446)=49,382yen
(As of January 8, 2019)
Comine is almost 40% cheaper.
The biggest difference is that the Comine doesn't have a remote control to turn on the electric heating switch, but I don't use a remote control, and I often change the temperature setting between jacket and pants, so I don't need one.
Disconnection... Weaknesses of electric heat wear.
The only weak point of such electric heating wear is disconnection.
In addition, there are multiple cables and connectors for connecting the vehicle and the wearer. There are also multiple cables and connectors that connect the wearer to the body of the car and the wearer to each other, and since these are frequently connected and disconnected, breaking of the wires seems to be an unavoidable problem. This seems to be the same level for both Heatech and Comine, and a Google search will show you articles about people who have encountered wire breakage problems with any of their products.
I couldn't use my gloves right after I bought them because the cable connecting the jacket to the gloves was broken.(Touring that didn't work./The reasons are clear)In this year's New Year's touringOn the second day, when I left the inn, my pants didn't turn on.I'm sorry.
Fortunately, when I couldn't use my gloves, the temperature didn't drop too much, and I had grip heaters on my hands, so it wasn't too much of a problem. The other day when my pants broke down, I was wearing a jacket and gloves, and even though it was 0°C and snowing lightly over Hakone, there wasn't much crosswind, so I didn't shiver.
However, I think I'd die if I couldn't use the electric heating jacket when I was on the road.
If you're dressed for electric heat, it's really light.
I'd like to try Komine, but for aftercare, I think Heatech is my personal choice.
Such electric heating wear. As I mentioned above, Cominet is the winner in terms of initial installation cost... I'm not sure. I was also thinking that if I had to buy one color, it would be Cominet... In fact, I was thinking thatI was thinking of buying the whole thing back at Comine.。
The other day, I changed the condition of my used Heatech from an AT to an MT and gave it to M-kun, who is planning to change from a big scooter to a regular motorcycle. I thought.
But then I noticed on Amazon that the 2016 model Heatech electric heating glove was pretty cheap and the price was the same as the Cominet glove, so I snapped it up.
(Shipping included \15,736: as of January 8, 2019)
I identified the cause of the problem as a broken wire on the jacket side, and thought "I'll have to rewrite the jacket... I was thinking, "I'm going to have to re-write the jacket... that's going to cost a lot of money," when an acquaintance told me about an aftercare service. The jacket that I had been using for three whole years was replaced with a new one of the latest model at half the regular price.
So I changed my jacket from the 2015 model to the latest model with... "Isn't it the same warmth and usability as the 2015 model?" That's my honest opinion. So if you're looking to buy one now, it's probably best to buy a late model. If you look for it and find it, you can get a complete set for the same price as the Comine, and even if it breaks down after the warranty period, you can get the latest model for half the price (if the domestic distributor and their support continue to be available).
By the way, this half-price purchase also came with a warranty, so even if the wire breaks again in three years or so, you can buy the latest model at that time at 50% off.
I'd like to hear some impressions of the Comine, though. I wonder if anyone has written a blog that compares both Heatech and Comine..... I'll google it.
