I was hooked on the GSX-S750 when I first rented it....
With the closing of the Kannana Minami Senzoku 2 Rinkan, we changed our rental bike contract to another store so we can rent bikes we couldn't before... First up.
I rented a katana.The second bike I chose was the GSX-S750.
Some thoughts
As always, a great bike that fits my skills and riding style perfectly. The 750cc displacement is perfect for the Japanese roads.
So, my basic impressions areThe first time I got rave reviews. It is the same as the previous one.
The first time you rent"ass-kicking sheets"This time, the seat that I had commented on was not like that at all. This time, I borrowed a 2019 model with a mileage of only 3,000 km, so maybe there was a minor change in the material or shape of the seat. If not, the reason may be that I enjoyed riding it while actively changing the position of my buttocks and shifting my weight, instead of riding it as a tourer with a heavy back.
Katana.... GSX-S1000/F.... GSX-S750
This time, my memory of the Katana was still fresh, so I couldn't help but compare it to the Katana right after I embarked on it.
Although the GSX-S750 is a liter bike based on its brother GSX-S1000 and the GSX-S1000 is a Nanahan, there shouldn't have been much of a difference between the GSX-S750 and GSX-S1000 in terms of personality and body size. But the first thing I noticed was the difference in cornering.
The other day I felt that the Katana could also cruise around the winding roads, but the GSX-S750 was a cut above the rest. I was thinking, "This thing must have a lot of caster..." I was thinking, "This must be the caster..." but I just checked and found out that the caster/trail is the same at 25°/100mm... I wonder if it's because the rear tire is one size smaller or because of the seasoning?
The center of gravity was obviously a little higher on the Katana, so that might be the difference.
In any case, for me..."desire to own"The GSX-S750 wins in all areas except for the "I'm not sure I like it" part. If I was asked to choose between the Katana and the GSX-S750... I'd take the Katana at first, but after a while I'd probably trade it in for the GSX-S750.
On the other hand, in comparison to the GSX-S1000... I'll have to take another look at this one... I'm sure the new model will be released around EICMA next month.
Will there be a new model? You're right, there won't be a GSX-S750 version of the Katana, will there?
I mean, it looks like we're going to get a recursion, and there's a strong possibility that there won't be a successor to the GSX-S750, right? Isn't it?
The GSX-700T is also the name of the model that was leaked.
And if there is a production version of the Recursion, it will be a half cowl sport bike, right?
I was riding a naked GSX-S750 this time, and as a person who usually rides a full cowl, my impressions were "When you're riding naked in the fall and winter, the wind on your belly makes you cold, man." So, let's look forward to the EICMA.
