My Ninja 650 was a 2015 model that had been out of stock for a long time, and in 2017 I searched high and low to find the last new bike in stock in the Kanto area, which I registered as a new bike in Japan.
I had received a call yesterday that the inspection was finished, but according to the weather forecast, it was going to rain again tomorrow, so I left work a little early and took the public transportation for the first time in 2044.
I couldn't take the time to go to the DMV by myself, and even if I could, I didn't want to go on a rainy day, so I asked Rough and Road to inspect my car....
I also changed the tires and oil, so in total I had to say goodbye to double-digit admonition money from my wallet. I've spent almost 50 admonitions on my Ninja 650 this year....furthermoreI was given proper maintenance by a stupid ass motorcycle shop.Shortly after, when the fork oil was still leaking, I had it traded in at Kawasaki Plaza for 120,000. My unpopular reimported, overrunning, tipped-over car.
MICHELIN ROAD 5 and MOTUL 300V
As I was leaving the store, one of the staff asked me, "You write a blog, don't you? I was nervous about the new tires, but I went home. The day before, I saw a video on YouTube."Video of Slip Down Right After Tire Change"I've seen a few of them.
Well, it's a hot season in terms of both temperature and track temperature, so I don't think there's much to worry about, but still, we started cautiously.
It was a sunny day, so I decided to take a detour and head home. In order to use the tires as much as possible, I swung the car slightly to the left and right and banked the car even on straight roads.
This time I put in Michelin touring tires, ROAD5. As you can imagine, after driving a few kilometers on the open road, the only impression I had was, "New tires are round..." I can't say much more than that....
The week of manufacture was also relatively new, considering the Corona disaster, being week 12 of 2020, and the pattern already looked like it would be resistant to rain.
I'm looking forward to going on a tour with this tire, as it's been highly rated by the web and by those who have installed it. It's supposed to rain this weekend, but I think I'll go.
The oil was MOTUL 300V and the filter was changed. As always, the shifts went smoothly right after the oil change. Also, I always felt that the engine was hotter than usual when I switched to the 300V. I'm not sure. I think it's because of the high heat conductivity and heat dissipation of the oil, but I'm not sure.
Once again, the theory that the Ninja 650 is a big cub
I went home.
When we stopped, the Ninja's tires were covered in pebbles and larger pieces of asphalt, confirming the softness of the ROAD5's tread surface.
I haven't ridden the Ninja 650 in a long time, but I've been living on the GSX-S1000 for the past two weeks, and it feels like I'm back home.
It is fun to pedal at low speeds. The torque and power are in your hands and you can feel that you can control it even when you open the throttle quickly. The parallel twin is not very exciting, but it gives you a lot of heartbeat.
The front brakes on the Ninja with mesh hoses and radial masters are much crisper and easier to ride.
As I've mentioned before, this bike can be ridden without any hesitation, and it's so easy that you can ride it anywhere you want, and yet it's so reliable when you need it."The theory that the Ninja 650 is a big turnip"I would like to strongly advocate the following.
No, I've ridden a bunch of different models at rental bikes, and now I have a GSX-S1000 at home, but it's a real classic. This generation's Ninja 650 (EX650 E model)
