It's been five months since I got my Ninja 650, and the odometer is now at 8,000km.
August is the longest rainfall in 40 years: .... August was the longest rain in 40 years ..... Considering the fact that August was the longest rainfall in 40 years
So I called the bike shop from where I was touring on Saturday and said, "I'll be there tomorrow for an oil change and 6 month inspection.
I was told, "OHLINS front springs are still not in stock yet," but... But....
So, Sunday. After waking up, I finished my laundry and cleaning and got ready to go out .... I checked the wind speed just in case......
Yes. Canceled.
If I had realized this earlier, I could have taken the Wangan and Tokan roads around Tokyo Bay, or the Tokyo Bay Ferry after taking a hot spring bath in Yokosuka.......
So I ended up not riding my bike on Sunday and the weekend was over.
There is no limit to our desires.
I'm getting used to riding the Ninja 650. When I was breaking in the bike, I thought, "Does this bike need more rpm than what I use for breaking in on public roads? When I was breaking in the Ninja 650, I was wondering, "Is it really necessary to use more rpm than for break-in?.....
I wish it had a little more torque at the start..... I wish it had a little more torque at the start.
However, increasing the number of bikes is too extravagant, and I have recently come to the conclusion that if I were to increase the number of bikes, wouldn't a 250cc off-road vehicle be better? So, for the time being, I will continue to be a rental bike member.......
Touring serow .... Fascinating....
I wonder if it's the battery.
Saturday's Izu touring was partially equipped for winter. The temperature was 3 degrees Celsius in Hakone, but it was zero cold. Or rather, it was very warm.
Heatech only took the top, so the perfect winter version can be enhanced one more step.
And on the way home, I realized........The idling is a little breathy when you stop......
I thought it might be a lack of battery capacity, because I don't think it happened when I left. I had the exact same heating system installed on my Ninja 400, but it never happened.
The headlight is also LED, and the 650 has one eye light (both eyes can be switched on with a switch), so the 650 should have more room in terms of power consumption, and I've ridden about 400km with the engine running... But..........
I think I'll bring the voltmeter I bought before to check this next time I ride.
Since the car has been in the store for two years, is it possible that the battery has deteriorated?
Headlight cut lines
Another point that did not bother me when I was 400 years old.Sometimes oncoming cars pass me while driving at night.....There is a phenomenon called Probably because ”It's too bright!" I'm sure that's what it feels like....orz
The LED's on the Ninja 650 are from Protec, who provided us with one of their LED's as a test vehicle back in the 400's at no charge.
When I installed them, I made sure that the optical axis of both Hi/Lo were properly aligned...... In the picture on Protec's blog, I can see the glare from the carb line is not clean.
However, considering that there was no passing at all in the 400 era, the optical axis was shifted by vibration..... It may be that the light axis has shifted due to vibration. I will try to check this by shining my headlight on some wall one night soon.
It's a Malaysian reimported car, and it may have cut lines for the right side of the road..... Is it?
I'm going to check that out as well, but I also sent an email to the official distributor, Bright Inc.
If the cut line of the lens itself turns out to be a problem, I'll buy a headlight unit for the 400 and replace it.......
I want to upgrade my bike......
With almost as much torque and power as a Ninja 250 compared to a Ninja 400, the Ninja 650 is still a much faster bike than the 400, even if it's starting to fall short.
When riding on a freeway, the speed from the exit of a corner to the next corner is different...... This is why the braking before a momentum corner is more aggressive than in the 400.
As a result, there are times when I feel some lack of convenience in the brakes, which I had no complaints about in the 400 era......
Unfortunately, after the new model was released, I had to search desperately for a new car in stock, and I had to welcome my beloved car, which was probably the last one in the Kanto area, so I couldn't choose a car with ABS......
As a mild-mannered male rider, I thought I was driving with a sufficient safety margin, but anything can happen on public roads......
I've seen some of my instagram friends on the Ninja 400 running radial masters and they say they're "super good", and I've learned that there are support parts for the Brembo calipers, so maybe this is an investment I should make...... Maybe I should add a 500 yen coin piggy bank...... And so on.
No, but it's a nice bike.
And although there are a few points that bother me, the Ninja 650 (old model) is still the best bike for me.
Compared to the 20+ bikes I've rented and test ridden in the past, I have absolutely no regrets about choosing this vehicle.
