Seat bag for GSX-S1000
I've had the same seat bag for 5 years and over 60,000km on my Ninja 400 to 650. I like it so much that I buy a new one when it gets old and replace it.
I don't plan to travel on the GSX-S1000, but I'd like to load it up with mobile batteries, drinks, and spa gear....
The design of the car is a bit spartan, and I wanted something that would give it a single-seat silhouette... That's why I bought this. I've been curious about the TANAX shell seat bag for a while.
I'm thinking of adding some carbon-like parts to the bike, so I chose the carbon pattern.
There are three sizes to choose from, from the smallest SS to the MT and the largest GT. I chose the middle one because I wanted to have a certain amount of capacity, though I guess SS is the best for appearance.
Easy to put on.
Super easy to install.
The length of the belt is quite long in order to be compatible with many types of vehicles, and it is too long for the GSX-S1000, but it will fit nicely under the seat.
I brought the rear seat into my room and started to work on it, expecting it to take some time, but even for the first time, I was able to complete the installation in 10 minutes.
In terms of looks, the SS size would probably be a better fit, but I'm satisfied.
impressions
It's taller than I imagined, so you'll need to swing your legs up higher when you get on the bike, but that's the same with any seat bag.
The fact that it is loaded is more than enough to compensate.
If you tighten the belt as hard as you can, it will not move even if you shake it a little. I hope it lasts as long as it does.
The belt that supports the lid when it is opened is also a nice touch. However, the advantage of this product is that it is fixed to the car body with a one-touch buckle, so it can be removed immediately."Be careful about theft."This can be a disadvantage. It's better to have some kind of locking mechanism.
And the load capacity?
Here's what I did yesterday in Hakone. Cap, glasses case, and sackosh (with mobile battery and iQOS in it)
It also looks like it can hold about two and a half plastic bottles. I haven't tried it yet, but the capacity can be expanded from the standard 10 liters to 14 liters, so I'll be able to add hot spring tools. As for souvenirs... It may be impossible depending on what you need.
I've been using an Alpha body bag on the Ninja 650 to carry the bike when I get off the bike, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to fit in the MT shell seat bag, so I'm using a KELTY sack.
If it rains lightly, you don't have to worry about flooding because the top surface is made of carbon-like resin. Unlike the Bagster Spider, which loses its shape when used hard, the silhouette does not seem to lose its shape even when used, which is also a plus point.
But I should have gone with the smallest size I could find.
