After all, the nearest convenience store is 1km away... I live in a rural area in Kawasaki where I sometimes have to take this route on foot, so I need a car to go shopping.
It's an area where you can get to Shibuya in about 30 minutes if the roads are clear, but it has a sense of seclusion that even bears might come out.
And this time, it's a problem with a little four-wheeler....
While driving through my neighborhood, I noticed an unfamiliar warning light on....
I googled it and found that the lamp was out. But the headlights and blinkers are still on. I thought it might be the cornering lights or fog lights, so I turned them on and off in the garage and tried turning the steering wheel, but everything was fine....
So, I had someone who came to visit me take a look at it and stepped on the brake, and it was confirmed.
The left brake light is out....orz
Work at home
So I went to Yellow Hat and bought a LED bulb....
I hadn't checked it myself, so I bit a spray can on the brake pedal to check for unlit lights.
There is a screw in the trunk compartment to remove the rear lamp, so I removed it by hand and pulled the unit and it came off easily.
The base can be removed by hand without tools... As expected of a popular car. It's so easy to make.
The filament of the brake light is not broken, but the bulb is blackened and it looks like it's gone.
I quickly replaced the bulb and checked the lights. It's OK.
The rear lamp mounting area was quite dusty and dirty....
I sprayed it with parts cleaner and gave it a light wipe down.
But, you know, the warning light is still on....
It seems that they're looking at the voltage instead of the current, so it seems that regular LEDs won't work....
Working outside
I had no choice but to buy a light bulb. The Yellow Hat in my neighborhood didn't have the best selection, so I went to Super Autobacs along 246.
The light bulb section here is well stocked. Get some cheap light bulbs....
The unit was removed in the parking lot and replaced on the spot.
Installation complete. No problems. Started the engine and the warning light was gone!
So Saturday is over. I didn't ride the bike after all....
