I'm on my motorcycle again today. I'm off to an appointment in Shinjuku.
The parking lot was the usual Shinjuku Station West Exit underground. Even if you rent it on a monthly basis, it's less than 20,000 yen, which seems cheap considering the location.
There are a few motorcycles parked in the monthly parking area that seem to be used for commuting.
While driving on the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway, it was a pleasant breeze thanks to my mesh jacket, but when I walked up to the ground, the season was already early summer. It was so hot that I could only think it was a joke that the temperature would be 10 degrees Celsius above this in mid-summer.
By the way, tomorrow's high temperature is also expected to be close to 30 degrees Celsius.
This evening's large motorcycle lesson was cancelled because I had a meeting and had to work. ....... .orz
I'm going back to the office with sweat on my forehead and a helmet on. ........ That's a bit of a helmet smell.
It's been about 5,000km since I last washed it. ...... It's been a while since I've washed it since it was winter, but I think it's time to go.
After what seemed like a flurry of activity, I came home and decided to wash my helmet.
Here is a PDF manual on how to remove the interior of the SHOEI J-Cruise. This is what it looks like when you take it all off.
It hasn't been a year yet, and I've been washing it from time to time, so I think this interior will still work for a while. When it gets worn out, you can buy an interior set on Amazon, but 7,000 yen is a bit expensive, even though it's 34% off the regular price.
By the way, according to SHOEI's helmet interior chart, there are three types of center pads and cheek pads with different thickness for each size (S/M/L), so you can buy them separately instead of a set and adjust them. The cheek pads are a little bit thicker than the center pads, so next time I buy them, I might go for the thicker cheek pads.
Now, bring the interior into the washroom. Wash it with Emeril and finish it with Downy. Rinse well and dry in the bathroom in the shade.
The cap, shield and sun visor are wiped down with Plexus as usual. Slippery and shiny.
The manual says to apply silicone oil to the shield's mounting mechanism and rubber parts, but I'm out of stock, so I sprayed silicone spray instead: ...... I did this, but I think it's the wrong way to go.
Instead of cancelling today's big bike lesson, I got a two-hour appointment tomorrow night, so I'll be wearing a nice helmet tomorrow. ....... I have a feeling I'll be back to normal and covered in sweat when the lesson is over. ...... .orz
