The weather is not looking good........
The rainy season has returned and the weather is still unsettled by typhoons....... Last weekI went to Hakone for a bit. However, the touring outside of the prefecture was done during the three consecutive holidays in July.Toyama TouringLeave it since: .....
It's supposed to be a beautiful day for biking this Saturday, but I can't go out because I have a lunch engagement: ....... I had no choice but to ride my bike to the restaurant. My destination was Lawry's The Prime Rib Ebisu.
I got there a little earlier than promised because if the parking lot was full, I'd have to look elsewhere. I parked my bike and went to the store in a sweaty state to leave my helmet and mesh jacket in the checkroom......
But this place doesn't look like the kind of place you'd want to ride your bike to.
We still have more than 15 minutes before our appointment, so we wait at the waiting bar to cool down. Imagine a sweaty guy sitting here in a polo shirt and riding shoes: .....
After waiting for a few minutes, we all gathered for a holiday lunch. Fun time with colleagues from my office days: ...... But touring is more fun, I guess.
Lawry's The Prime Rib, Yebisu Garden Place
Lunch is reasonably priced, so it's a good choice for a meal with the girls. Coco.
But we still went out on our bikes.
On Sunday, I woke up at 6:00 a.m. and left at 6:30.
Yes, I'll die if I don't go touring again (lie). Today, I'm going to take revenge for last week. ”Ninja! I'm back!" I'm touring with the blogger Iminashi.
Meet at the Kamisato Service Area at 8:00 a.m. ..... Yes, I was actually planning to wake up 30 minutes earlier and arrive there first........ We drove in the passing lane all the way from Nerima on the relatively empty Kan-etsu highway in the morning, but we still arrived just before 8:00 a.m. .......
I was always late, so Mr. Iminashi took a break at the SA before I arrived, and we met up smoothly......
In addition, the USB cable was disconnected and the phone was not charging, so there are almost no photos after this.
The preliminary plan was to take advantage of the Dora-wari Metropolitan Area Touring Plan to go from Usui Karuizawa to Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen Route via Manza through Tsumagoi Panorama Line. The plan was to take Mr. Iminashi to the Shibutoge (Shibu Pass) for a spectacular view...... The plan was to take the route from Usui Karuizawa through Tsumagoi Panorama Line to Shiga-Kusatsu Highland via Manza, but I got lost on the way, got lost on a toll road, and when I was riding with my helmet shield up, a bug hit my face and I got covered in some kind of strange bodily fluid, so things didn't go smoothly.
Unfortunately, Shibutoge didn't offer a spectacular view either......
Ninja 1000
By the way, Mr. Iminashi Shi's favorite car isThe new Ninja 1000, which we toured together at Kawasaki Plaza the day after its launch.。
It is also equipped with genuine pannier cases for touring.

When I was replacing my Ninja 650 and Ninja 400, I was a bit worried that "if I'm going to spend this money, buying a Ninja 1000 won't be that different: ....." It's still one of my top candidates for a big tourer.
It's still cool.....
Even though it's a middle class bike, the Ninja 650 looks large with its voluminous full cowl, but when placed next to the 1000, its lines are noticeably slimmer.......
I saw a lot of the Ninja 1000 in my rear view mirror as I was leading the way this time."not to be sneezed at"I can feel it.
The sound of the four cylinders when you follow behind and enter the tunnel is also wonderful: ....... Hmmm. Maybe I want one after all........
I expect that there will probably be a special edition car like the R Edition released for the Z1000 at this year's Tokyo Motor Show, so I'll wait a little longer.
The question of when to wear rainwear.
While we were taking a break at the Shibutoge Hotel, the rain started to fall in sheets. We hurriedly headed down the Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen route toward Kusatsu. On the way, we stopped on the shoulder of the road to ask if we should wear rainwear, but the rain was not so bad at that point, so we just kept going...... But the rain was not so bad at that point, so we just drove on......
I arrived at Otakinoyu thinking, "Maybe I should have put on my rainwear there."
We had a light meal and went to the hot spring.
As I looked out the window while drinking coffee milk after my bath, it started to rain pretty hard...... It was fine when I was in the outdoor bath earlier: .......
It didn't look like it would stop even if we waited, so Mr. Ishizushi and I put on our rainwear and started again. We would never make the mistake of missing the timing on the plateau route again.
If you think ......
When I left Kusatsu Onsen town and went out to the road station in the sports park, the road surface was dry instead of raining........
The temperature rose as we descended in altitude to Shibukawa-Ikaho: ...... We took off our rainwear at the Yamba Dam roadside station.
After taking a break for soft-serve ice cream, we headed straight to Shibukawa-Ikaho on the Kanetsu Expressway. I thought I'd drive a little longer, so we broke up when we got on the highway.
Thank you very much, Mr. Iminashi. Next time, let me try the spectacular route again.
We had another stormy day today: ......
I slipped into a PA with a smart IC to try a few places I hadn't ridden before. My phone was fully charged, so I checked my SNS and e-mails, and found .........A staff member had a work-related SOS...
We decided to go straight home and started driving on the Kan-etsu highway. There was a traffic sign on the road, but it wasn't so bad that it stopped the flow of traffic completely, so we slipped through and headed towards Nerima at a reasonable pace...... And then, around the Fujioka junction, it suddenly came: .....
Second guerrilla rain encounter of the season: .....
In an instant, it's flooded, not unlike an expressway: ..... The splash of water from the car next to you splashes loudly into the next lane: ....... Speeds are now displayed at the 50km limit: ......
"It's times like this that I have to wear rainwear......." I thought to myself as I got soaked all over. We got out of the rain clouds near Takasaka SA, but there was nothing we could do about it, so we kept driving to Yorii PA.
Taking a break from being soaking wet: ..... I took a picture of the rear fender, which is still not standing in translation. When I took off my gloves, the color of my new mesh gloves fell off and my hands were black.
I didn't feel comfortable sitting down at the food court to take a break with water dripping down my back, so I just drove on. We didn't encounter any rain after this, so by the time we took a second break at Miyoshi PA, our clothes were all dry from the wind.
After getting off at Nerima, I took a short detour and came home around 9:00 pm. Today's mileage was about 500km.
According to a message I received on line, Mr. Iminashi also encountered rain on the highway: ..... I hope he didn't catch a cold or something. .......
Reached 3,000km. Needs a little more improvement.
Just six weeks after the car was delivered, the odometer reached 3,000km (about 2,950km to be exact).
Last time.Impressions at 1,000kmI wrote about it in the previous article, but even now, after 3,000km, my impression is still the same.
Since the break-in process is over, there is no 6,000 rpm limit, but even on the highway, if you turn 6,000 rpm, you can go faster than the passing lane pace.
I don't use 6,000 rpm on ordinary roads unless I have to "downshift to consciously use a higher rpm.
Unlike the Ninja 400, which had to be revved up for winding uphill and high-speed merges due to its inefficiency, the Ninja 650's revs are not something you'd use regularly.
As I get used to riding the bike, my normal RPMs tend to increase, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to continue .... I don't know if I'll be able to do that in the future.
However, I'm mostly satisfied at this point. I've also replaced the rear fender and transplanted LED headlights, and there are only two things I'm not happy with/need to improve.
- Steering wheel vibration during high-speed cruising
The tachometer read about 4,500 rpm in top gear at 100km/h, but with 1.6 times the displacement per cylinder, the vibrations were a bit harsher than on the Ninja 400.
I'm going to try to make it heavier weight when I install the grip heater.
- Tightness in the lower half of the body
This is because of the distance between the step and the seat...... This time I compared it to the Ninja 1000 and found that the distance between the step and the seat is almost 10cm different. 500km a day is enough to make me want to stretch my knees a bit on the way home........The solution is to add a large liter class vehicle for touring more than a sole........ (Dreaming)
Well, I'm thinking of raising the seat height a bit by laying down some gelzab-like material. I'm also thinking of adjusting the angle of the shift and brake pedals.
Next weekend is finally forecast to be a weekend where the weather won't be too bad (I'm not saying it will be good). The typhoon will be passing through.
Now, where should we go? .........
