Weaknesses of Napoleon Cowling Mirror
Breaking in the exterior during summer touringThis is the side mirror that I was forced to replace.
I'm currently installing the TANAX Napoleon Cowling Mirror, which I snagged at the break-in site and installed the next day.
The rear visibility, which was a weak point of the Ninja 400/650, has been improved and I am very happy with the product.I'm not going to do it again....Unlike the stock mirror, which has a high probability of snapping off when you hit a bump, this mirror moves in the direction of the red arrow when you tip it over."a fold"It will prevent you from (untested)
It has a large vertical and horizontal range of motion, which allows for a great deal of flexibility in installation and completely solves the visibility problem. The long-stay version that I have installed looks great with the Kawasaki green color of the car body.Insect Senseis increased, but it is also a nice.
However, the only part that is usually safe to move is the mirror surface. Basically, the stay part cannot be moved normally..... However, as a result of being pulled a little and moving it when the cover is attached or removed, or moving it a little when the mirror surface is adjusted, it can be moved......
There was one time in the past when I tried to adjust the mirror while the traffic light was stopped, and it came loose as shown in the video.
This time I intentionally moved it to loosen it for the photo shoot..... However, the cover of the bike was loosened a bit because it was moved violently by the typhoon, so I only had to put a little effort to get it in this state.
Check the instruction manual and retighten.
I don't have the empty box or the manual with me because I had it installed at a store, but I found a PDF version of the manual on the web, so I brought it with me.
Remove the cap from here. You can insert a flathead screwdriver into the gap and use .... You may want to use a flathead screwdriver, but I grabbed it with pliers and pulled it off. This method will scratch the cap a bit, so it's not for the faint of heart.
Then the angle bolt as described in the manual appears: ...... There are some rust and signs that the screw holes were damaged...... By the way, this is the first time I've removed the cap from this side and looked at the bolts since I retightened the opposite side before............ Well, that's okay.
And, after deciding the position of the mirror, it is the end of the work to tighten this bolt. I thought it would be bad if it loosened during the touring, so I tried to deal with it early towards the weekend.

Hi Kenji - san. Yasir from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia here. So what made he stalk became loose? Is the screw loosened by itself? If the screw got loose by itself, you can try a low strength thread locker.
