I'm in the camp that (almost) never does.
The article title was borrowed from BikeBros' post.
It's been three years since I returned. I have several favorite day-trip routes in the Kanto area, and when I go out on a whim, I often end up following the same course (e.g. Kusatsu Onsen + Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen route, round trip around the Izu Peninsula, etc.). Recently, I've been wondering if there are any new places to stop off before I go.
Even if you have a plan, it's usually at the level of "let's see the scenery there" or "let's have dinner there.
Example of touring without prior preparation
- In the meantime, I'm going to take the Tomei, Chuo, or Kan'etsu roads, watching the traffic, and think about where to go as I drive.[For example, something like this]
- I just got off at the parking lot on the day of the touring."Let's go to Utsunomiya to eat gyoza."However, we ended up riding from Kanagawa to Tokyo to Saitama to Gunma to Niigata to Fukushima and arrived late at Utsunomiya, so we ended up eating gyoza near our house.[Click here to read the article.]
- Chichibu."Omebufudokoro Umeda-ya"Let's eat tofu dishes and enjoy hot springs and winding roads at ...... But for some reason, we ate grilled meat in Kusatsu Onsen and didn't stop at the Snow Corridor, which had just opened.[Click here to read the article.]
It's like that.Since you have so much free time, think of a detailed route and schedule in advance, and it will go wrong."stress"I want to avoidIt's the result of thinking.....
So there is a lot to miss. But sometimes that's good.
Of course, I usually have a list in my brain of places I want to go (spectacular scenery, food, hot springs, etc.) based on my reading of blogs and motorcycle media.Blog post as a potential location.Unless I do, I don't remember. So, for me, touring (≒travel) is to drive randomly. When you get home, you'll say, "I should have gone there: ......" I should have gone there. There are many things to do.It's a touring reason to say, "Well, why don't you just go back?"And that's the benefit of it.
There are many wonderful roads, scenic views, hot springs, and meals that I've encountered thanks to touring without deciding on a route and just taking off on roads that I like.
Of course, this is only possible because I'm living a single life with two discomforts.....orz
Now, what to do about GW Tohoku touring?
So I'm wondering what to do for this year's GW, even though it's a touring trip of 4 days and 3 nights, and I'll probably ride around 2,000km.Tsugaru-Iwaki SkylineNo plan at all except to run ...... But I had already booked a hotel before the cheap business hotels were booked... before the cheap business hotels fill up.
And by the way, this choice of accommodation.
- First night: Stay near the Tsugaru-Iwaki Skyline for now......
- Second night: Since we're going to Akita, let's stay in the northernmost part of Honshu.
- Third night: Then it's hard to come back the next day in one day..... I'll spend a night on the way back.....
That's what I thought. When I googled for information on the area around the inn, I found that there was nothing around the first night's inn, and I was in despair.
Moreover, if we try to drive the route of the first day, leaving in the morning and arriving late in the evening, we can't think of many interesting places to stop....... I'm planning to go to the Bandai-Azuma Skyline this weekend to drive the snow corridor .... It's not a place where you can go touring that often if you are going to Aomori/Akita........
I still have some time left, so I think I'll take the time to check out all the nice places to stop and fun routes to take before I head out!
