I was curious, but I thought it was a little over the top.
There are some motorcycle customization parts that have become so standardized that you hardly hear anything bad about them. This is one of them.
STOMPGRIP
It's a strong warp seal that reduces slippage during knee grip. They are available for different models of bikes, and of course, there are two types for the old Ninja 650: black and clear....
A little expensive...The stickers are quite large, so I was reluctant to put them on because they would look quite exaggerated.
Of course, I don't race on the circuit, nor do I attack mountain passes, so it's not necessarily a necessary part for me... This was the main reason why I didn't buy it, but I'm the type of person who likes to get a good knee grip.
Even if it rains when you are touring, you can still ride without hesitation, and if you go into a narrow forest road, you will find a steep and bumpy descent that goes on and on, and your knee-grip thighs will slip.
I thought it would be easier to ride the Ninja 650 if it had a non-slip surface.
How about a smaller size?
So, the other day. As usual, when I was walking around Amazon, I saw this one in the recommended products.
General purpose miniature STOMPGRIP
Well, it's not cheap, but I think I can put it on without it looking bad, and I'm a touring rider, so I thought this size would be enough for knee grips. So I put it in my cart when I bought the electric heating glove and popped it in....
The electric heating glove has not been put into action yet due to the broken wiring on the jacket side, but I have already put it on and am riding with it. I checked the position of my inner thighs on the bike, and it seemed to be just right to put it on the lower end of the tank....
Degrease the sticking area with parts cleaner....
I stuck it on. I've seen a lot of comments that the clear version needs to be applied very carefully or air will get inside and it won't look good, but I don't care about the details, so I just did it.
I recommend this one.
So, I've been riding my bike with this attached lately. After applyingI've only been touring in Izu.It is a very good feeling. When I'm traveling to work on the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway or on the Daisan Keihin Expressway, I feel pretty good when I'm turning on a big R at a reasonable speed.
It's also modest in size, so it's not that noticeable....
I have a feeling that it will probably reduce fatigue in long-distance touring on mountainous roads. I recommend this one.
