I've been a bit behind on my blog updates. I haven't been out touring at all during this time. I haven't even started the engine of my bike.... I've written about this before.and I'm working on it."A tiny IT shop that goes down easier than a pimple."There's a petite Olympic bubble in Japan, and I've been asked by an important person at a business partner, "I'm in a lot of trouble if you get injured on a motorcycle... Is it possible to ask you to refrain from doing that? So I asked him.....
So this is today's news.
Well, from what I've heard, I've been expecting this for a while, but it's almost decided.
So it looks like the ban on motorcycles will be lifted soon.
I'm immediately delusional and thinking of attacking the Shimane/Tottori area for GW.
I've had this happen before.
No, really, I haven't been able to ride at all, and I don't have anything to blog about... Oh, there was one thing.
I did a little chain maintenance at the end of February, when the weather was a little less cold.
And that's when I noticed this: .... This is .... Do you understand?
My Ninja 650 uses a split pin to hold the axle shaft fixing nut in place when adjusting the chain. .... The pin is just stuck straight in.
If you grab it and pull it, it will just slip out.
No, it's not funny.
I'm glad I noticed it, but this thing was so loose that it could come loose even with driving vibrations, so if it came loose while touring and you didn't notice it on a long trip, it could have led to an accident....
At any rate, I was planning to change the tires soon, so I just bent them lightly with the on-board tool and fixed them in place.
I emailed the bike shop where I had the suspension serviced this time. "I'll be careful in the future! I was a little deflated when I got a simple reply back.
This time, I was able to find it myself because it was in a visible place, but I wonder if this level of work error is being done in places that are not obvious to the layman... I had a feeling of disbelief... I guess I'll have to go to a different store for maintenance next time... I guess....orz
I'll have to change the tires first.
So the Ninja 650 is back from its overhaul and maintenance, and despite a few concerns due to an unexpected leak, the suspension is in great shape after a short ride. I'm sure the bike will be ready to go by now... I think I'm going to start touring again this weekend.
So, the first thing to do is to change the tires.Uneven tire wear noticed at the end of last year。New Year's TouringThe road surface is getting warmer, and I'd like to use proper tires in the coming season when I'll be enjoying the curves. Previous tire changeI wanted to use the METZLER ROADTEC 01 or the PIRELLI Angel GT, but they were not in stock at the store, so I compromised and used the BRIDGESTONE BATTLAX SPORT TOURING T31. I had the impression that they were too stable and not fun to drive on mountain roads....
So far, ROADTEC 01 or Angel GT2, the successor of Angel GT, are the top candidates for this replacement, but I will take a break when it rains hard... If I decide that I want to take a break when it rains, I don't need touring tires... So, I'm interested in MICHELIN's new street-specific tire, POWER 5.
The successor to the POWER RS, a high-grip tire that can also be used for sports driving on the circuit, has been differentiated into the POWER 5 for street use and the circuit-specific POWER GP.
