not feeling well
It's been a while since my last touring trip. I was so excited that I set my alarm for 4 a.m......Woke up a little after 9 a.m......
I've actually been a little sick since last weekend, and although I'm on the mend, I'm not feeling very well...... It's no wonder my body wanted to sleep.....
I thought it might be cancelled depending on the case...... I thought it would be a good idea to go out and turn back if it looked impossible.
Some of my workmates even said to me, "Maybe you caught a cold because you haven't been touring.
So, I set up my new ETC card after renewing my credit card and set off.
Only one more course left to conquer the Tokyo metropolitan area touring plan!
The previous day's plan was to drive north on Route 121 from the Utsunomiya Interchange to Yamagata to eat Imoni (stewed potatoes) or Yonezawa beef, but it was a bit far. We decided to take a shorter route, so we chose the Joban Expressway.
So, I applied for the Tohoku and Joban Road course of the Tokyo Metropolitan Area Touring Plan.
With this, the only course left is the Tokanto and Tateyama roads. I'm saving the Boso Peninsula touring for the time when I can't go to the mountains due to snow, so I think I'll use it this winter.
- Kan-etsu, Joshinetsu and Tohoku Expressway Courses
- Tomei and Chuo Road Course
- Tohoku Expressway / Joban Expressway Course
I felt like I hadn't been able to ride much this summer because of the long rains and typhoons, but I realized that's not true.
You felt that way because you only got to go on one decent touring trip in October......
The Sea of Ibaraki
So, back to Saturday.
The starting point of our touring plan in the Tokyo metropolitan area is Kawaguchi, so we take the Metropolitan Expressway to Kawaguchi JCT. It was already past ten o'clock. It was the middle day of the consecutive holidays, and tomorrow is President Trump's visit to Japan, so the Metropolitan Expressway was crowded!......
We finally got on the Joban Expressway and took a break at Yatabe Higashi PA.
I checked my physical condition and it seemed to be fine. We continued on the Joban Expressway and exited the expressway at the Hitachi Minami-Ohta IC. I took the open road to drive along the sea.....
Oh, no.Superb view. It's been a long time since I've seen the horizon in full view.
We continued our journey north along the coastline. I was thinking of going straight into Fukushima, but the sky was turning black....... As I recall, there was an area where motorcycles were banned on the Fukushima coastline: .... I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, but I think it's a good idea.
As the smell of rain began to mingle in the air, we took shelter at a set meal restaurant we saw and planned our route for the rest of the day.
Tonight's lodging is in Fukushima. Considering our route, it looks like we'll be under a rain cloud after this.
As I crunch on cold yellowtail and fried oysters, I try to think of a way to avoid the rain, but it's impossible.
At this point, it's already past 2:30: .... The sun will be setting in about two hours......
We put on our rainwear at a set meal restaurant and started again. In most cases, I always lose the timing to put on the rainwear and end up getting wet, but this time, I put on the rainwear early to protect myself from the cold.
As a result, this turned out to be a good thing.
Rain in Fukushima
It was already drizzling when we left the set menu restaurant: ..... We started running again, but there was a black rain cloud in our path: ..... ButWorkman's breathable rainwear is superb! The body can run without worrying about the rain at all.
I bought this product when it rained during a previous touring trip to Toyama. I bought here because the product that claimed to be dedicated to motorcycles was not listed as breathable, but I reaffirmed that it was a great answer.
However, unlike the special products for riders, it does not take into account the posture of riding the bike with bent knees, so after some time, the right leg gets flooded......
After dinner coffee break at Doutor, a gas station.
I adjusted the hem belt of my rainwear and headed for Fukushima again.
In the mountains, the temperature was 7 degrees Celsius in some areas, but today I came out in my winter gear, considering my condition, so I didn't mind the cold at all.
By the time we entered Fukushima and took a break at Roadside Station Adachi, the rain clouds seemed to have passed.
We arrived at the hotel easily. There was no parking space for motorcycles, so we were allowed to park in the space between the two parking lots......
We checked in safely around 7:00 p.m. .... By the way, I forgot to take a bath in the hot spring on the way.
dinner
As usual, I'm using my credit card points to stay at a business hotel in front of Fukushima Station. This time, I stayed at a business hotel in front of Fukushima station. I'm sure I'll be able to find something special in Fukushima, but I can't find anything that looks good on Google.
We took a short break at the hotel and it was late, so all the good restaurants were closed...... I had no choice but to have a ramen and gyoza dinner nearby.....
Borrowed a humidifier from the front desk and went to bed with it running at full power: ..... I ended up riding only about 350km today.....
It's not exact, but the route is roughly like this.
Day 2to follow.......
